So the Redskins are 1-0. They can thank Sean Suisham’s leg for that. Or Antwan Randle El’s hands. Or Stephon Hyre’s compotence at a position he’s never played before.

Here are some of my thoughts on the game…

Jason Campbell is resillient: After being intercepted on his first pass-attempt, Campebll responded well to have a productive day. Santana Moss dropped a couple of passes early on, and he was sacked in the game’s second-series, but he didn’t let any of the negatives swirling around bother his undaunted personality. He finished the day 12-of-21 for 222-yards. He didn’t throw any TD’s and was picked off twice, a ratio he’ll have to improve. I love the big-play ability he provides though. His big arm should be on display all year.

Practice? Practice? We talking ’bout Practice?: Allen Iverson said that back in the day. Clinton Portis said that on Sunday. The all-pro rusher took a lot of heat this week for not practicing throughout most of the summer and not playing at all in the pre-season. He proved that he doesn’t need to practice or play in exhibition games this past weekend, when he ran for 98-yards and a TD on 17-rushes.

London Fletcher is a man amongst boys: He throws his body around like a WWE wrestler. He’s a human wrecking-ball. The former Ram and Bill mike-linebacker came to D.C. to help out against th run. So far, so good. Washington held Miami to 66-yards on the ground, and Fletcher led his defensive unit with 12-tackles. He didn’t just lead in tackles. He also led vocally, and by taking charge of the huddle. He is the QB of Washington’s defense.

Rocky McIntosh is a play-maker: Double-digit tackles, a forced-fumble, and a sack. That’s McIntosh’s line from this past weekend, in a breakout performance in his first start as a full-time player and a future-figure of Washington’s linebacking-core.

Against the Eagles…

-Campbell’s going to have to find a way to get the ball to Santana Moss and Chris Cooley, Washington’s two best pass-catchers. Moss had just three-catches and didn’t get to the 40-yard receiving plateau. Cooley didn’t catch a pass until overtime, and only mustered 10-receiving  yards on the day. That won’t cut it in the future. Moss and Cooley are Washington’s top playmakers in th passing game, and they need to be more involved for the ‘Skins to have success.
